In view of the ongoing Novel Coronavirus outbreak, which the World Health Organisation has now designated a global health emergency, the OECD and the Government of Georgia have decided to postpone OECD Eurasia Week to a later date, still to be confirmed.

Ensuring that our delegates are safe is a responsibility that both we and the Government of Georgia take very seriously. We stress that this is a postponement rather than a cancellation. The OECD and the Government of Georgia are both committed to holding OECD Eurasia Week 2020 in Tbilisi, and the new dates will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.

The next OECD Eurasia Week will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, co-hosted by the Government of Georgia and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The objective of OECD Eurasia Week is to provide a platform for the exchange of views and experiences on the major economic issues facing the region. Discussions will focus on policy change and competitiveness, economic diversification, and sustainable development.

This will mark the second time that OECD Eurasia Week is held in the region, bringing together senior policy makers from Eurasia and OECD countries, thematic experts, and representatives of international and regional organisations, civil society and business.


Meeting breakdown:

  • High-level plenary session: Economies in Motion: From Strategy to Action
  • OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Roundtable: Peer reviews of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine on the topics of business linkages, business development services, access to finance and SME strategy implementation
  • Thematic Sessions: Regional development policy and skills for tomorrow’s economy
  • Today’s Start-ups, Tomorrow’s SMEs: Perspectives on Georgia’s investment infrastructures, start-up ecosystem and Go Global strategy
  • Entrepreneurship Hub: A series of informal interactive sessions showcasing successful innovation and technology businesses from Georgia
  • Publication launch:  SME Policy Index: Eastern Partner Countries 2020
  • Ministerial discussion of OECD work on Improving the legal environment for business in Central Asia

Policy Dialogue

OECD Eurasia Week includes several high-level policy dialogue discussions to share best practices and experiences in addressing common challenges in the region.



The OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Roundtable was established in 2013 as a joint platform between OECD members and Eurasia partner countries to carry out peer reviews in the framework of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme.
